Alternate Systems specializes in coating thickness standards.
We are a Dallas, Texas-based calibration company founded in 1986 with US and international customers. We are a fully ISO 9001:2008 certified and ISO 17025:2005 accredited calibration lab and testing lab.
In addition to coating thickness standards, our calibration scope encompasses Laboratory and Field Calibration of Electrical, Dimensional, Thermodynamic, Pressure, Weighing Devices, Non-Destructive Instruments Conductivity, and Ferrite Content. Our calibrations comply with ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 FDA Part 11 Validation of Environmentally Controlled Spaces and Systems.
Manufacture and Certification of Film Thickness Standards.
Our testing lab scope is Testing of Coating Thickness, Alloy Conductivity, and Ferrite Content with X-ray fluorescence, Eddy Current, and Magnetic Induction; X-ray Radiation Safety Surveys.
Our coating thickness standards vision is “Better measurements for a better world.” Alternate Systems is a member of the NCSL International.
In addition to coating thickness standards we provide calibration for aerospace, defense, electronics, food, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and surface finishing customers, we manufacture film thickness calibration standards, provide accredited measurement and testing services, accredited calibration services, FA Part 11 validation of controlled environments and systems, temperature mapping, and radiation and laser safety services. Alternate Systems provide full sales and calibration services support for Hitachi High Technology XRF instrumentation. In addition, Alternate Systems engineers, installs, validates, and calibrates environmental monitoring systems, SCADA systems, and alarms.
Our skilled coating thickness standards technicians can calibrate and service a variety of measuring instruments and process controls with specialization in XRF, Eddy current, and magnetic induction coating thickness measurement, standards, electronics, humidity, and temperature (thermodynamics).
Our FDA Part 11 temperature mapping services include placing sensors throughout a space to log data for a period of time and report results to our clients.
We provide non-destructive coating and plating analyzers, manufacture metal foil and plated standards for use with energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (XRF) coating analyzers, and calibration services for XRF coating analyzers and other non-destructive coating thickness measuring instruments and calibration standards.
In addition to SCADA monitoring systems, we have been manufacturing Mylar® foil calibration standards for magnetic induction and Eddy current coating thickness measurement instruments since 1994. Now these standards are being provided for manufacturers, measuring instruments using new technologies including white light and near-infrared interferometry.
We also provide radiation and laser safety training, radiation surveys, and expert consultation in coating measurement and analysis to aerospace, defense, electronics, manufacturing, and research laboratories.
Our skilled metrology technicians love working with customers and help you understand the right questions to ask to ensure your devices are calibrated for your specific coating thickness standards use. We pride ourselves on our top tier customer service and look forward to working with you.
